Three ways of penis enlargement that work and four that you should never try

There are products on the market that approve of penis size.

The average length of the penis is 9 cm

Penis size is a sensitive topic and by some estimates, 30% of men are dissatisfied with them. This can cause you discomfort and you may need some method of penis enlargement.

For reference, according to a study of more than 15, 000 men in 2014, the average length of a penis is 9 cm and the average length of an erection is 13 cm.

There are products on the market that approve of penis size. While some may do what they claim, others are dangerous and should be avoided.

Effective methods of penis enlargement

While these methods may not permanently change the size of your penis, they can temporarily help you, or even create the illusion of a larger penis.

  1. Pumps

Vacuum pumps help increase the amount of blood filling the penis during an erection, says Jessica Ihi, MD, a urologist who specializes in Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State University. This will help you temporarily increase the size of your erection.

Yih says that pumps are usually used in conjunction with the penis ring. Penile rings are placed around the base of the penis to keep blood in the penis longer during an erection. Pumps will not permanently enlarge your penis.

  2. Pills

If you have erectile dysfunction, medications can help. They do not increase the size of your penis, but they can facilitate blood flow to your penis, which can lead to bigger and harder erections if you have difficulty getting it at all. This is because these medications contain a chemical called a type 5 phosphodiesterase inhibitor, says IHI, which calms blood vessels and increases blood flow. These medications should be prescribed by a doctor.

  3. Aesthetic changes

There are a few more changes you can make by enlarging your penis. "One simple solution is to cut your pubic hair, " says Judson Brandeis, MD, a private urologist. With a suprapubic fat pad, it can cover part of your penis and make it appear shorter. "Losing weight will help you to open your penis and restore its length, " says Yih.

Ways to Avoid Penis Enlargement

Some methods of increasing are a waste of time and are simply ineffective. Other methods involve the risk of infection or unintended consequences.

  1. Lotions

While you can find penis enlargement lotions and creams on the market, Brandis says no scientific studies have proven their effectiveness. Yih adds that these products are not FDA approved. For both of these reasons, you should refrain from penis enlargement lotions.

  2. Stretch marks

Brandeis says there is a stretching technique called jelqing that manually stretches the penis, but he says there is no scientific evidence to prove its effectiveness. "Pulling out the penis opens up the auxiliary ligaments and allows the penis to sink into a relaxed position, but the penis itself is less likely to lengthen, " says Brandis.

  3. Injectable drugs

Filler or emulsified fat can be inserted into the penis to increase the circle, but not the length, Brandis said. However, this only lasts for two years and it can make the penis uneven as long as the penis gland is not damaged. In addition, there is a risk of infection. In general, this is not ideal.

In addition, Iim said that if the fillers are silicone, this can lead to severe inflammation and scar tissue formation, which may require corrective surgery.

  4. Penile implants

Another option is an implant. Brandis says it is a taco-shaped piece of silicone that fits into the penis. The implant can increase the circumference and length of the relaxed penis by one to two centimeters, but the results may vary and there is a risk of infection.

This procedure is not for everyone. "A lot of patients say it's unnatural. If a man is removed, it's a disaster. The scar tissue is bad, the size of the penis is shorter and the erection does not reach normal, " Brandeis said. He categorically denies this operation.
